Creative Inspiration Challenges DT make: "Let's Celebrate" Lawn Fawn card by Leigh

Howzit Creative Friends!
It's been quite awhile since I've blogged some inspiration here and I'm excited to be back to share a make for a new challenge blog with fun monthly Anything Goes challenges you can play in called Creative Inspiration Challenges!

Today I'm sharing a Creative Inspiration Challenges Design Team make for Challenge #3 sponsored by Lawn Fawn.

For my birthday themed card I used Lawn Fawn's clear stamp set called Simply Celebrate.

I created the background panel with Saltwater Taffy and Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide inks on mixed media cardstock and stamped all the border stamps with Saltwater Taffy.  To make the stamped topper element I created the background with a Saltwater Taffy wash and stamped the floral design with Saltwater Taffy and the sentiment with black Versafine ink.  I then fussy cut out the topper panel and embellished the floral designs with Crystal Stickles glitter for lots of pretty sparkle and 2 large yellow self adhesive pearls and the card corners with 4 small yellow pearls.  I then adhered it to the card front with foam tape.  I also stamped the floral design onto the matching envelope with Saltwater Taffy oxide ink.

You can shop Tim Holtz Oxide Inks and Lawn Fawn product and more at Scrapbook.com via my affiliate link at no extra cost to you.  Thank you for supporting me while getting awesome deals on your fave products!

You Make Me Happy - fancy fold Wedding card for Delicious Doodles DT!

Howzit Stamping Friends!
Happy 1st of June, I can’t believe it’s June already😱
It’s time for a new challenge over at Delicious Doodles’ Challenge Blog but sadly this will be our last challenge, thank you to everyone for joining us all these years and we hope you’ll still come hang out with us on Facebook!

On to June’s theme which is Wedding or Macabre Wedding which is better suited to Teri’s more gothic themed digis.  I decided to use this lovely called Rosita and designed a vintage teal/tea dye fussy cut and multi-layered domed card that still folds flat to fit in an envelope!

Supplies used:
Sentiment decorative paper from my stash
Peacock Feathers and Tea Dye Distress Inks
White cardstock
Pop dots
Glue

Miniature Watercoloured Flowers - 2 ATCs for Delicious Doodles DT

Hiya Stamping Friends!
It's time for our new challenge over at Delicious Doodles and this month the theme is Flowers!

I've been experimenting lately with my newest toys, Spectrum Noir ColourTint pencils by Crafter's Companion.  I'm loving the vintage colour palette in the two available sets, Primary and Nature.

For my Delicious Doodles DT projects I painted these two miniature watercolours using the pencils and Derwent waterbrushes featuring Delicious Doodles Wild Roses and Apple Blossom digis.

Both are ATC sized and I enlarged the lower design to create subtle backgrounds for each one in Photoshop before printing out onto Spectrum Noir premium paper.

The Gentleman - a The East Wind card

Howzit Stamping Friends!
Today I'm sharing a card I made awhile ago but kept until now coz I've been experiencing some annoying Facebook group glitches with posts not publishing or vanishing once I managed to get them up😟  Today I was finally able to get this one up on The East Wind FB group so YAY, I can now blog it!

I love Lucy Loo, she's my favourite TEW character and pair her with a Boston Terrier....fabulous!!!!  Alas, this fabulous Lucy Loo Boston Terrier image is not currently up in the shop so ask Unky about it and do check out all the other wonderful Lucy Loo digis too!

I printed the image onto Neenah solar white cardstock and coloured it with Copics.  I used a Ranger white gel pen to add some highlights and a metallic gold gel pen for a touch of bling on the buttons on her coat and belt.  I fussy cut the image, layered it onto black cardstock and fussy cut again.  I made a card from brown cardstock and adhered the floral background paper to it after I edged it with Black Soot Distress Ink.  I adhered the acetate lace down the right hand side and mounted the image onto the card with pop dots and embellished with the paper flowers.  I coloured the beads in the center of the flowers with a gold Sharpie marker and randomly applied gold shimmer to the petals with a Spectrum Noir Sparkle brush pen.

March Hare "Pearls of Wisdom" ATCs for Delicious Doodles DT

Howzit Creative Friends, happy March to you all!
It's time for our new challenge over at Delicious Doodles and this month the theme is March Hare/Rabbit.

The March Hare is a very wise hare with his pearls of wisdom😆

I used Teri's portrait of a Hare for my quirky Alice in Wonderland inspired ATCs.

My little Alice (Tonner BJD Sad Sally) wanted to model with them for this photo😉

showing the sparkly background
The background of both ATCs are done with Nuance Powders and I applied Frosty Sparkle Kiss - Cosmic Shimmer Glitter Kiss to just the right hand side of both backgrounds.  The edges are distressed with Tim's paper distresser tool and matted on black cardstock.  I printed out 2 Hare's, fussy cut out leaving a narrow white border, matted onto black cardstock and fussy cut again leaving a narrow black border.  After adhering them to the ATCs I drew in the whiskers with a black Micron pen.  I hand wrote the quotes with the black Micron pen, trimmed and matted on black cardstock.  I finished them off with Recollections kraft flower embellishments and applied Icicles Stickles to the flower petals and centers.

I'm sharing some of my old faves on this blog and today I'm sharing a macabre love story accordion book I made in 2017 as a member of the Joggles DT.  Click HERE to see my original post.

I paired up the Ghoulish Portraits collage sheet with a poem by Leo Christopher that seemed tailor made for my project!

"Broken Hearts"
…an old photo album bound in black ribbon was found in the attic…you are drawn by the feeling of sadness that seeps from between the pages…you untie the ribbon and read the words on the cover and are drawn deeper into the tale as you turn each page and become lost in their sorrow…
The covers:  I split the poem in half, the front tells the story from the woman's point of view and the back tells the man's.
She’ll cry tonight
one more time
hoping it’s the last
&
I’ll lay beside her
a thousand miles apart
shedding the same tears
knowing it’s not.
by Leo Christopher

She sits alone
nothing to soothe her pain
not even sweet bird song
Her thoughts betray her
and dwell on the day
her Love broke her Heart
Her Love
tearing out her Heart
haunts her
she wept as
he crept away
never to return
He believed he was happy
Free to pursue his Dreams
But alas not
Doomed to wander alone
as Her face
haunts him &
her Tears of
Love Destroyed
rain upon his
Broken Heart
Here’s a tissue and a nice cup of tea…you’ll feel better once you see how much fun I had making this book over at Joggles ;0)

On my original post you'll also find my affiliate links for all the products I used which you can get from Joggles at 15% off retail every day!

MY DARK VALENTINE BLOG HOP Day 4: Queen of Hearts

Howzit Stamping Friends!
Before I share my project for today I'd like to express my sympathies to everyone impacted by the Florida shootings, my thoughts and prayers are with you all😢

I'm sharing some of my old faves on this blog and today I'm re-sharing this card featuring my absolute favorite Ike's Art digi, the fabulously wicked Queen of Hearts!  I had the pleasure of being a guest designer for Ike with this card back in August 2017!

I love making tall and skinny cards and love doing fancy cut outs and combined both on this card.

I coloured this dark and twisty version of the Queen of Hearts in Paper 53 with a stylus on my ipad.  I then printed her out onto Neenah Solar white cardstock and added the background with brown Derwent Pastel pencil blended with a Dove blender pen.

I trimmed down the panel and folded the cardstock in half to create the tall thin card.  I then fussy cut out the right hand side.  To complete the card I adhered black cardstock inside and trimmed it down leaving a 1/4 inch border on the top, bottom and right hand side but didn't leave a border around the fussy cut section.  To balance the card I finished it by applying Black Soot Distress Ink to the fold down the left side.

I couldn't resist re-sharing this photo of Neo checking it out it again too😋

Thanks for stopping by to see my project today!
